Preflight

Aircraft Setup

Fuselage

  1. Remove the pins holding the arms in place.

  2. Unfold the arms.

  3. Re-insert the pins to secure the arms.

  4. Confirm the pins are locked in place.

  5. Install the GNSS mast on the front of the aircraft by sliding in the pin and then rotating the housing of the connector until it clicks in place.

  6. Unfold the props so that each blade is opposite the other.

Swift Station and Tripod Setup

  1. Unfold the legs of the tripod and extend if desired. Ensure the tripod arm is swiveled outward

  2. Attach the GCS by placing the smaller lip of the mount attached to the GCS in the pocket on the tripod mount and press the other side in place. The tripod arm should automatically flip back in place, locking the GCS to the tripod.

  3. Unfold the tripod with the GPS ground plane on it and place it approximately 20 feet from the SwiftStation.

  4. Place the GPS in the center of the ground plane.

  5. Turn on the SwiftStation and deploy the antenna vertical. Start the SwiftTab app.

  6. Turn on your RC hand controller (always make sure the throttle stick is down).

On / Off Switch Throttle down: 0%, up: 100%

Aircraft Power On

  1. Insert a fully charged flight battery into the E2. Push forward on it until you hear an audible click and the plane powers on.

  2. Ensure that the button pops back out when the battery is flush with the fuselage. You can do a pull test with your hand using the grip to ensure the battery is secure.

  3. Once the SwfitStation has connected with the tablet, it will take approximately 5 mintues to survey-in and start providing RTK corrections. Make sure the aircraft is receiving corrections before setting the landing point altitude

Creating Waypoint Plans

  1. Use the Blue Plus icon and select Flight Plans -> New Flight Plan

  2. Determine your waypoint number starting index, the height of the waypoints, and the reference for the waypoint height. Use successive Single-taps to create a waypoint pattern, finishing with a Double-tap on another waypoint to close the plan, or in a new location to create a stopping point.

  3. Single-click on a waypoint from the local plan and send the flight plan to the aircraft.

Finishing Preflight

  1. Perform the SwiftTab Pre-flight Checklist

  2. To ensure the vehicle is commanded to travel to the Takeoff point, Single-tap on the point and select Goto Point. If another object is near the takeoff point, a menu may pop up to disambiguate your selection.
